Networkcar(R) and Motorola Put Fleet Managers in the Driver's Seat Enabling Them to Reduce Operating Costs

SAN DIEGO, Jan. 24, 2005 -- Motorola, Inc. and Networkcar(R), a Reynolds and Reynolds company , will demonstrate how Networkfleet(TM) can provide utility fleet managers with remote diagnostic and vehicle location information so they can reduce operating costs and more efficiently manage their assets. Motorola will showcase Networkcar's Networkfleet(TM) product in its booth (#1218) during the 15th Annual DistribuTECH Automation and Technology Conference for Utilities being held in San Diego, January 25-27.

Last year Motorola and Networkcar signed an agreement under which Motorola is initially targeting sales of the Networkfleet product to its existing markets, including enterprise organizations and fleet management companies; automotive original equipment manufacturers and state and local governments in the United States.

Networkcar's system collects and organizes detailed performance and location-based information directly from a vehicle's engine computer and a global positioning system (GPS), respectively. This information is then transmitted wirelessly from the vehicle to a network operation center, and with the click of a computer mouse, made available online for fleets to monitor items such as current location, fuel consumption, mileage, emission status and speed.

"Motorola's customers want to work with a trusted supplier to outfit their fleets with an affordable solution that enables them to locate their vehicles as well as gather operational statistics, such as fuel mileage, real-time driver performance or repair data," said Tim Callard, vice president of Automotive Aftermarket. "Motorola is currently conducting several customer trials using Networkfleet. To date, the solution has proven to help fleet managers gather and analyze real-time information so they are better able to manage their assets."

"Our alliance with Motorola enables Networkcar to immediately expand its reach into the fleet market, said Dave Dutch, president of Networkcar. "Together, we look forward to serving fleet operators and helping them to efficiently and cost-effectively manage their fleets."
