Ford Motor Orders Fourth TrueView(TM) Vision Guided Robotics System, Powered by Braintech's eVF(TM), for Engine Casting Plant in Cleveland, Ohio
NORTH VANCOUVER, B.C., Jan. 20, 2005 -- Braintech, Inc. (BULLETIN BOARD: BRHI) , a pioneer in Vision Guided Robotics ("VGR"), today announced that Ford Motor Company has ordered another TrueView(TM) VGR system, powered by Braintech's eVisionFactory(TM) (eVF)(TM), marking the fourth 3D-VGR system scheduled for installation at the major automaker's engine casting plant located in Cleveland, Ohio. Three systems were initially ordered for this facility in the Fall of 2004.
Owen Jones, Chief Executive Officer of Braintech, noted, "As expected, we are beginning to see a number of follow-on orders from existing customers who have come to fully grasp and appreciate the full benefits afforded by Braintech's VGR technologies. Ford's decision to deploy and expand its use of TrueView(TM) VGR systems at many of its North American manufacturing facilities -- seven locations, to date -- clearly reaffirms that our technology is helping Ford to achieve greater productivity and cost efficiencies in their manufacturing processes. We are immensely pleased that Ford is electing to expand its use of VGR in Cleveland and look forward to further opportunities with this valued customer in the future."
