Metaldyne Names Kim Kovac Vice President of Human Resources

PLYMOUTH, Mich., Jan. 17, 2005 -- Metaldyne announced today that Kim Kovac has been appointed vice president of human resources. Tim Leuliette, chairman, president and CEO, made the announcement.

In this role, Kovac will be responsible for the overall human resources function including compensation and benefits, labor relations, and management resources.

"I am excited to have Kim in this leadership position," said Leuliette. "She has played a key role in developing a common compensation and benefits strategy, and achieving our vision of 'One Metaldyne.' I look forward to the value she will bring the organization in her new position."

Kovac joined Metaldyne in 2001 as a compensation and benefits consultant. She also served as corporate benefits manager before being appointed to her most recent position as director of compensation and benefits.

Before joining Metaldyne, Kovac worked as a corporate human resources director in the automotive industry. Her prior professional experience includes 14 years with Comerica Bank, where she served in a variety of human resources positions, including vice president of employee benefits.

Kovac holds a bachelor's degree and a Master's of Business Administration degree, both from Lawrence Technological University. She resides in Grosse Ile, Mich.
