WHY: By adopting the modern form of the Latin word for knowledge, scientia, into its signature, DuPont, The Science Company, recognizes the importance of advancing our knowledge of humanistic as well as technical matters. That appreciating the differences and values of diverse cultures is the key to not just acceptance and respect, but also an admiration for diversity. DuPont maintains an ethnically and geographically diverse work environment and provides internationally recognized race and gender awareness programs available to all employees in support of a stronger society that is not just more tolerant but one that is better able to succeed in the arts, sciences, business and our collective quality of life. DuPont believes in the importance of diversity and encourages employees to establish networks and other groups reinforcing the benefits of a multi-cultural workforce.
