TrueView(TM) Vision Guided Robotics System, Powered by Braintech's eVF(TM), to Be Deployed by Ford Motor Company at Van Dyke Transmission Plant in Michigan

NORTH VANCOUVER, B.C., Jan. 13, 2005 -- Braintech, Inc. (BULLETIN BOARD: BRHI) , a pioneer in Vision Guided Robotics ("VGR"), today announced that Ford Motor Company has ordered a TrueView(TM) VGR system, powered by Braintech's eVisionFactory(TM) (eVF)(TM), for deployment at its Van Dyke Transmission plant located in Sterling Heights, Michigan. Installation is expected to occur in March 2005.

This deployment will increase the number of Ford North American manufacturing facilities operating TrueView(TM) systems to seven, which include:

  * Windsor Engine Plant -- Windsor, Ontario
  * Essex Engine Plant -- Windsor, Ontario
  * Automatic Transmission Operations Plant -- Livonia, Michigan
  * Ford/Batavia Transmission Plant -- Batavia, Ohio
  * Romeo Engine Plant -- Romeo, Michigan
  * Cleveland Engine Plant -- Cleveland, Ohio
  * Van Dyke Transmission Plant -- Sterling Heights, Michigan

TrueView(TM) is the brand name for a proven 3D vision-guided robotics system that is ideally suited to automotive and auto part precision manufacturing and assembly. TrueView(TM) combines the industry-leading robotics expertise of ABB, the world's largest robotics company, with the revolutionary VGR technologies of Braintech.
