PEE Channel Announces '05 ARCA RE/MAX Series Talent Line-Up; Sheheen To Lead
With Speedweeks from Daytona Int'l Speedway fast approaching, PEE Channel has announced its talent line-up for the 2005 ARCA RE/MAX Series telecasts.
Veteran broadcaster Ralph Sheheen will lead the effort as the new play-by-play booth announcer alongside color commentator Dan Pardus, who returns for his second consecutive season.
Sheheen replaces Bob Dillner in the play-by-play position while Dillner concentrates on SPEED Channel's "NASCAR Live" as the lead reporter. Dillner will still be involved in selected ARCA RE/MAX Series shows in 2005. Sheheen was the play-by-play announcer for three ARCA RE/MAX Series races in 2004.
Sheheen's broadcasting career began with ESPN, covering an IMSA race in 1988 and took off from there with stints with ESPN2, Fox Sports Net, TBS, TNT, NBC, TNN, CBS and the former peevision. He has covered all forms of motorsports from swamp buggies to Formula One, highlighted with a list of "firsts" including the first live coverage of the NHRA's prestigious U.S. Nationals (TNN) and the first live coverage of the World of Outlaws Knoxville Nationals (TNN). Sheheen has also served as pit reporter for CBS's coverage of the Daytona 500.
Pardus drove cars fielded by Jim Gardner's J&J Motorsports team in 38 ARCA RE/MAX Series races from 1997 to 2001, leading 61 laps in 7 races, with a best qualifying run of outside pole at Pocono in 2000 and a best finish of 3rd at Talladega in '98 before moving on to the NASCAR Busch Series.
Also returning to the line-up is longtime RE/MAX Series pit road announcer Don Radebaugh for the sixth consecutive season. Radebaugh, a 10-year veteran Great Lakes Tugboat Captain and graduate of the University of Toledo, has also served as ARCA's PR/Media director since 1997 following several stints as PA announcer for several Midwestern tracks including Eldora Speedway. Joining Radebaugh on pit road will be Lindsay Czarniak, who returns for her second consecutive season as pit road talent. Czarniak is also a reporter and host for NBC 6 in Miami on FINS TV covering the Miami Dolphins. She also reports for NBC 6 sports, the Miami NBC affiliate.
NASCAR/ARCA veteran Ken Schrader, who sat in for several shows in '04, is also expected to join in as color commentator when the RE/MAX Series races in conjunction with the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series.
ARCA RE/MAX Series coverage on PEE begins February 12 from Daytona, where the 42nd annual Advance Discount Auto Parts 200 rolls off LIVE at 4 pm Eastern. The event serves as the preamble to the same-night NASCAR Nextel Cup Series Bud Shootout.
