Fleetguard Emission Solutions Partners With New York Dept. of Sanitation for Queens Advanced Diesel Retrofit Initiative
NASHVILLE, Tenn.--Jan. 1, 20052, 2005--Fleetguard Inc., the global filtration, exhaust, coolant and chemical specialist for diesel and gas powered equipment, announces Fleetguard Emission Solutions(TM) participation in an advanced retrofit initiative, funded by the Queens Clean Air Project, with the New York City Department of Sanitation (DSNY) and Clean Air Communities to retrofit 60 refuse vehicles with emission control devices. These devices will assist in reducing nitrogen oxides and particulate matter in Queens, New York. Fleetguard is a wholly-owned business unit of Columbus, Indiana-based Cummins Inc. .Fleetguard Emission Solutions(TM) will provide 50 Environmental Solutions Worldwide, Inc. (ESW) Particulate Reactors (TM) and 10 Cleaire Longview(R) emission devices for DSNY to install on their Queens-based fleet. The initiative is sponsored by the Queens Clean Air Project, a venture of Clean Air Communities established in 2003 that works toward cleaner air and more efficient energy in Queens neighborhoods. The Department of Sanitation has participated in several diesel retrofit projects in recent years.

DSNY operates Mack powered Mack LE refuse vehicles and is the first refuse application to use the ESW Particulate Reactor(TM). The retrofitted units will be in service in Sanitation Community Boards Districts 1 and 3, in northwest Queens. DSNY will also be involved in performing these advanced diesel retrofit installations.
Cummins Metropower, a New York-based distributor of Fleetguard Emission Solutions(TM) products, has assisted in the consultation of this project and will be involved in supporting the final installations and training. They have been instrumental in installing numerous other Fleetguard Emission Solutions(TM) projects.
