New York International Auto Show Names Alan Liebensohn Business Manager
NEW YORK, Jan. 12, 2005 -- America's first and largest-attended auto show has named Alan Liebensohn business manager. The announcement was made today by Candida Romanelli, show director for the past 14 years. Liebensohn, also a long-time veteran of the trade show and exhibition management field, joins Romanelli and her staff as the organization prepares for its 105th anniversary show in March 2005 at Manhattan's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
As business manager, Liebensohn will work closely with Romanelli on all aspects of producing the show including overseeing: the day-to-day activities of floor planning and exhibitor requirements, accounts receivables, staff activities and a variety of general duties necessary in running one of the nation's largest and most successful exhibitions.
Liebensohn brings more than 20 years of event and hospitality facility management to his new post.
Previously he was an independent exhibition, conference and meeting consultant working with a number of nationally recognized brands such as GLM LLC, BizBash Media, and Curves for Women. Prior to that he was the director of conferences and trade shows at G.E.M. Communications, where he held full P&L responsibilities for the publishing, trade show and conference management company's industry trade shows and conferences in the U.S. and Europe. At G.E.M., Liebensohn developed the annual business plan and departmental budgets for annual revenues of $8.5 million.
Liebensohn began his trade show management career at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in 1985. When he left the Javits Center in 1991 he served as assistant manager of event services.

Liebensohn holds a Master's degree in Higher Educational Administration from New York University and a Bachelor's degree from Rider University in Secondary Education Social Sciences. He is a Certified NYC Fire Safety Director and currently serves as an adjunct instructor at New York University in Trade Show and Meetings Management.
Kicking off the springtime selling season, the 2005 New York International Auto Show will feature an impressive collection of cutting-edge design and remarkable innovation. More than four floors of displays from the world's automakers will feature the newest vehicles and futuristic concept cars. More than 1,000 cars and trucks will be on display at the Javits Center, filling 814,000 square feet of exhibit space.
