Networkcar(R) Awarded GSA Federal Supply Schedule Contract
Contract streamlines buying process for government agencies enabling them to more easily purchase the Networkfleet solution
SAN DIEGO, Jan. 12 -- Networkcar(R), a Reynolds and Reynolds company that offers web-based vehicle GPS tracking and remote diagnostics products, today announced that it has been awarded a U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Federal Supply Schedule Contract.
The contract gives U.S. Federal agencies, as well as state and local government agencies the ability to purchase Networkcar's products and related services in a streamlined manner at negotiated rates. Networkcar's GSA contract number is GS-07F-5559R.
Under the GSA Federal Supply Schedule Program, long-term contracts with commercial firms are established to provide access to over four million commercial services and products that can be ordered directly from GSA Schedule contractors or through the GSA Advantage!(R) online shopping and ordering system.
The ease of ordering provided by this contract will allow Networkcar to further the use of its Networkfleet solution by government and military fleets. Networkfleet can help government and military fleets better manage the location, performance and operating condition of their fleet vehicles through the use of GPS tracking and remote diagnostics technology.
Networkfleet collects and organizes detailed performance and location- based information directly from a vehicle's engine computer and a global positioning system (GPS). This information is then transmitted wirelessly from the vehicle and made available online to help fleet operators reduce operating costs and improve productivity. Fleet operators are able to monitor operating parameters for their entire fleet such as vehicle location, diagnostic trouble codes, idle time, fuel efficiency, mileage, and speed.
In addition to providing vehicle location data, Networkfleet records vehicle mileage and can automatically send it monthly to GSA Fleet's Mileage Express system. This automation allows GSA leased fleets to reduce the time- consuming manual collection and data entry they do today to capture and report mileage readings.
"The decision to pursue a GSA contract was based on the overwhelming, positive response we received for our product from our government customers which include various cities, counties and military bases across the U.S.," said Dave Dutch, president of Networkcar. "The U.S. Marine Corps is currently using Networkfleet at various fleet locations across the country and this GSA contract will simplify the procurement process for additional locations requesting our technology."
