New Version of TEKgroup Online Newsroom Software Goes Live With Ford Media Redesign
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--Jan. 1, 20051, 2005--Ford Motor Company's corporate communications site, http://media.ford.com, re-launched with a clean new look, and the most recent software capabilities offered by TEKgroup International, Inc. The sixth version of the TEKmedia online newsroom software package contains improved event and media contact postings, enhanced traffic reporting modules, expedited search results, Web log creation and RSS feeds. The Special Events module enables administrators to go beyond the posting of regularly scheduled events, and display subsections for major happenings such as the 100th Anniversary, Living Legends Tour, Mustang Moments and the New York Auto Show.
Media contact information, comprised of name, phone and e-mail address, is now categorized and presented by division. Divisions within Ford include manufacturing, safety and environment, motorsports and Ford credit.
Once the site administrator posts news releases and graphics, he or she can run reports that produce data indicating which members of the media have retrieved specific releases. Upgraded management controls now provide the ability to run reports that publish the demographic and interest details of subscribers. These reports tell which journalist is interested in a particular section.
Site managers are now able to maintain product-related Web logs, or blogs, as they are commonly regarded. A good example is the 2005 Ford Mustang Web log, http://blog.ford.com, with postings from the Mustang electrical security engineer, the Mustang suspension engineer and the Mustang product development launch manager. External third-party sites interested in publishing news from Ford Motor Company are able to do so with the use of RSS, otherwise known as rich site summary. With the integration of an RSS publisher, Ford Media managers can syndicate content they develop, extending its distribution and generating return traffic to http://media.ford.com.
"Our long-term, collaborative partnership with Ford allows us to be innovative leaders in the world of Internet PR," said Steve Momorella, founding partner, TEKgroup International, Inc.
