Krohn Racing /TRG - Daytona test Friday

on pace

Krohn Racing/TRG put a new Pontiac-powered Riley into the top two during the
first day of practice for the Rolex 24 At Daytona. Oliver Gavin set the the
fastest team time on Friday afternoon with a lap of one minute 48.998
seconds on the 3.56-mile Daytona International Speedway infield road course.
He is driving the No.66 Daytona Prototype car wth Jörg Bergmeister and Max
Papis.

"It's been a very successful day for the team and for the drivers," Gavin
said. "We're still trying to learn a lot about the cars; every tme we get in
the car we learn more. So for us to be on the pace, at the front, is
fantastic for everybody here. It's giving us a lot of confidence., and it
keeps the momentum going. If we can keep that up over the next two days, I
think we'll be in a very strong position come the race."

test time

Tracy Krohn and Nic Jönsson will share the No. 67 Krohn Racing/TRG Riley in
the Rolex Sports Car Series this season. Indy 500 winner Buddy Rice and
Boris Said will join them for the Rolex 24 At Daytona.

Krohn was happy with the first official practice day, following a two-day
team test in Savannah, Ga., earlier this week. "For me, it's getting used to
this new car and the track together," he said. "The car itself feels pretty
good – we had a little bit of push and we're working on that; there seems to
be an engine-management issue – more software-related than true
horsepower-related – and we're working on that. It's a very driver-friendly
car, I can see why everybody likes these cars."

master instructor

Jörg Bergmeister, who set the team's fastest time during Friday night
practice (1:47.182) learned karting techniques from Michael Schumacher, now
seven-time Formula One world champion. "My dad has a VW dealership and he
worked there for two and a half years," Bergmeister recalled. "My dad also
sponsored him when he was doing Formula Ford. He taught my brother and me
the special things in go-karting."
