MOTOR TREND Ranks the Top 50 Industry Players with 2005 Power List

LOS ANGELES--Jan. 7, 2005--MOTOR TREND magazine, the world's number one automotive authority and part of the PRIMEDIA Consumer Automotive Group, today announced its first annual Power List rankings. Recognizing the real power in the auto business isn't always under the hood, the editors at MOTOR TREND have selected the top 50 automotive industry people who matter most. MOTOR TREND's 2005 Power List ranks these players by influence and impact on the automotive landscape and highlights the significant contributions that earned them a place on the list.

"It is important to realize cars are created by people," said Angus MacKenzie, editor-in-chief, MOTOR TREND. "The auto industry is one of the few industries where a single person can completely transform a company's product line, brand image and influence consumers through their vision, talent and expertise."

MacKenzie continued, "This industry is one of the biggest, most dynamic and exciting in the world and our readers want to know about the people who decide what we drive and when we drive it. For this reason, we created the Power List to recognize those we've seen have a significant effect on the way we drive, buy and think about cars."
