Audiovox Digital Multi-Media Line Doubles
New Voice Recorders, Cameras, Docking Stations Round out Line; The Company Introduces First Digital Multi-Media Under Advent Brand
HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. and LAS VEGAS, Jan. 7 -- Audiovox Corporation continues to build its digital multi-media presence with consumer driven line ranging from voice and video recorders to multi- function cameras and all with built-in MP3 players.
Ralph Etna, Consumer Products Sales VP, indicates the company's response to the new products in the digital market is driven by consumer preference for MP3 capabilities. The company has taken that into consideration but has gone much further. In 2005, Audiovox will introduce a line of products that go beyond MP3 and address the digital convergence that is driving the market today. Says Etna, "Convergence is the blending of a variety of new technologies into single consumer electronics products designed for home and portable use. In response to that trend we have taken several popular consumer products and morphed them into some really fun models, with multi-faceted features in miniaturized configurations."
At the Consumer Electronics Show, Audiovox is introducing nine high tech digital products that include several MP3 players, a Digital Camcorder/Still Camera/Voice Recorder and a Voice Recorder with FM radio and Game-Playing capability. "These products are feature-loaded and performance-driven. We anticipate a positive reaction as we compete in this market with our first full line-up of these exciting products," Etna says.
In addition to the Audiovox branded products, the CE Show will also be the stage for the introduction of the Company's first Digital Multi Media product offerings under the recently acquired Advent brand. Said Etna, "The new Advent products will be step up versions with enhanced features, which will give our distribution chain the opportunity to fill several price points with different brands -- all from the same source. We believe the consumer acceptance of the Advent brand will drive sales and give this line a real jump start."
