Steve Osborne, 9J, to Participate in USCS Tour
California Boy Transplanted to Peach State Will Race in "Outlaw Thunder" Tour
SHARPSBURG, Ga., Jan. 6 -- Steve Osborne, J&S Motorsports team owner and driver, formerly of Cupertino California, has recently announced his intent to participate in the United Sprint Car Series, 2005 "Outlaw Thunder Tour". Mr. Osborne joins the series with a wealth of experience as a third generation racecar driver garnering more than ten years competitive Sprint Car racing experience in California and surrounding states. Mr. Osborne began racing motorcycles competitively, graduating to earn the title of Champion while racing Micro-Midgets in Arizona. Eventually outgrowing the limitations of the smaller car and engine, Mr. Osborne moved up to 360 and 410 cubic inch, dirt track, winged Sprint Cars, where he remains riveted.
"The cars competing in the U.S.C.S. events are almost identical in appearance to the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series seen on national television broadcasts," said Pete Walton, president and founder, United Sprint Car Series. "Steve Osborne will be a welcomed addition to the competitive mix of drivers who will be participating in the series. His aggressive driving style and past experience racing in World of Outlaw events will make things very exciting on the track and in the grand stands."
"I'm thrilled to participate in the U.S.C.S. series as a 'rookie' to the tracks and unique driving conditions in the Southeast. I've had lots of mud in my face over the years, but it's never been red!" says Steve Osborne. "I look forward to the challenge of dealing with entirely different track conditions regarding moisture and humidity then making adjustments to the team's standard setups. Hopefully, we'll end up near the front of the pack!"
