Waves Announces E224 MaxxBass(R) Amplifier; Combines MaxxBass Processing With Premium Grade Automotive Power Amplifier
LAS VEGAS, Jan. 6, 2005 -- Consumer Electronics Show, North Hall Booth #5238 -- WAVES Audio LTD., a world leader in audio signal processing tools, announced today that they have added a MaxxBass(R) power amplifier to their line of aftermarket car audio products. The E224 amplifier integrates Waves patented psychoacoustic bass extension circuitry found in the MaxxBass 103 Signal Processor with a premium 2 channel 240 Watt amplifier that delivers 120Watt rms per channel into 4 Ohms. The E224 MaxxBass amplifier will be on display and playing in the Waves booth at the 2005 Consumer Electronics Show. It will be available in early 2005 from Waves Car Audio dealers.
MaxxBass utilizes the latest research in psychoacoustics to let loudspeakers sound like they are playing up to 1.5 octaves below their physical roll-off. Car Audio & Electronics Magazine heralded the arrival of MaxxBass by saying, "MaxxBass changes all the rules we have learned about making bass in our car audio systems. It makes us hear all the bass while the speaker is actually moving less."
Waves introduced its first car audio product, the MaxxBass(R) 103 Signal Processor in October 2004. It is already receiving wide praise from reviewers and users alike. "Waves MaxxBass technology is rapidly being accepted by leading car audio enthusiasts as a requirement for anyone who is really serious about sound quality," stated Gilad Keren, CEO and co-founder of Waves. "The new E224 MaxxBass(R) Amplifier offers a winning combination with its premium amplification capabilities and MaxxBass signal processing technology, making it more convenient and affordable to users."
Waves' MaxxBass signal processing technology is used by top music recording professionals to improve bass impact without distortion in virtually every top music, movie soundtrack, and multimedia title produced worldwide.
A Different Approach to Bass Boost
MaxxBass does not use a traditional equalizer to boost the bass. MaxxBass uses the Phenomenon of the Missing Fundamental to create a bass impression that is very convincing and natural. MaxxBass allows you to hear frequencies up to 1.5 octaves below the loudspeaker physical roll-off, and the Waves technology is being adopted in a wide range of audio products in automotive, portable, home theater and computer applications. Companies that are using MaxxBass in their products include Altec Lansing, Audio Products International/Spherex, Samsung, Sanyo, Sony, Virgin Electronics and many other top consumer electronic firms.
