New Vehicle Sales in Japan Down 1.6%

TOKYO January 6, 2005; Japan Today reported that domestic vehicle sales in Japan declined 1.6% in 2004 from 2003 to 3,962,232 units, the Japan Automobile Dealers Association said Wednesday.

New vehicle sales, excluding those of minivehicles, fell for the first time in two years. (Kyodo News)
