Visteon Joins Boston Acoustics and Dolby to Show Branded Surround Sound
Automotive family entertainment systems move to the next level with demonstrating DVD audio with the first wireless Dolby Headphone solution
LAS VEGAS, Jan. 5 -- Visteon Corporation continues to expand its premium branded audio product offerings through a collaborative relationship with Dolby Laboratories and Boston Acoustics. This collaborative relationship is built upon the Visteon partnership with Boston Acoustics that brought Boston Acoustics branded audio to Chrysler and Jeep(R) last year.
The product offering being introduced as a result of the Visteon, Boston Acoustics, Dolby relationship is an in-vehicle surround sound, family entertainment system featuring Dolby(R) Pro Logic(R) II, DVD-Audio, and the first wireless Dolby Headphone solution available for automakers.
Visteon applies its automotive expertise to continuously deliver innovations and the next generation in rear-seat entertainment. Visteon delivered the industry's first factory-installed DVD family entertainment system and is now demonstrating the future of family entertainment systems through the first wireless DVD package featuring Dolby Headphone. As a result, listeners can enjoy movies, music, and games without the limitation of wires.
To demonstrate the system, Visteon, Boston Acoustics and Dolby have installed the system in a vehicle at the Consumer Electronics Show held in Las Vegas, January 6 through 9, 2005. The in-vehicle surround sound system features a cabin sound system from Boston Acoustics and Visteon's first head unit to include both Dolby Pro Logic II and DVD-Audio.
