Atlantic Mutual Ranked Highly Again By New York Drivers

NEW YORK, Jan. 5, 2005 -- Atlantic Mutual has had fewer complaints upheld by the New York State Insurance Department than any other company over the past three years. Each year, the Department investigates thousands of complaints from auto insurance consumers and decides which are of merit, or "upheld." Atlantic Mutual has had only one complaint upheld in total over the past three years. The most recent report was issued in December 2004.

When ranked by complaint ratio -- the number of upheld complaints relative to the amount of premium written -- Atlantic Mutual is one of only four companies to rank in the top ten in each of the past three years.

"We have dedicated ourselves to serving the needs of customers with substantial assets to protect," said Dan Olmsted, president of Atlantic Mutual, "and consistently delivering the best service, especially regarding claims, is a crucial part of our offering. The ranking by New York State is independent proof of our excellence -- and it reflects the outstanding service we provide in all our states."

The Annual Auto Complaint Ranking is considered by the New York State Insurance Department as a tool consumers can use to evaluate competing insurance companies. For more information on the Annual Ranking, visit http://www.ins.state.ny.us/.
