G.I. Joe's Stores Help in Tsunami Disaster Relief Effort

WILSONVILLE, Ore., Jan. 5, 2005 -- Norm Daniels, President and CEO of G.I. Joe's Stores today announced plans to answer President Bush's call for businesses to help in the disaster relief effort for victims of the December 26 Tsunami that devastated Southeast Asia. "Americans, and especially Northwest residents, have always answered the call to help; all G.I. Joe's is doing is making it easy for them to make donations to Tsunami Aid." Daniels said, "Northwest Medical Teams, Mercy Corps, and the Red Cross are on the scene and need our support now."

The plan calls for G.I. Joe's customers to make donations now through January 31st at the checkouts of any of the 22 G.I. Joe's stores in Oregon and Washington, and receive a printed receipt for the donation with the applicable tax number. There will also be canisters for the collection of spare change.

G.I. Joe's will match all cash donations up to $20,000.

100% of the funds collected will be distributed to the 3 groups on or about February 2nd.
