ACS' TripPak SCANNING Network Expands; WILCOHESS and Road Ranger Sign Exclusive Agreements
DALLAS, Jan. 5, 2005 -- Affiliated Computer Services, Inc., , a premier provider of business process and information technology outsourcing solutions, announced today that it signed exclusive placement contracts with WILCOHESS, LLC and Ranger Enterprises, Inc. The two operators of convenience stores and truck stop chains will offer TripPak SCANNING(TM) transportation document imaging services to trucking fleets at all travel plaza locations.
ACS, through its wholly owned subsidiary TripPak SERVICES, developed and deployed at more than 300 truck-stop facilities, a cashier-assisted and kiosk- based scanning service to expedite the collection and processing of proof-of- delivery documents and other records. Fleets currently using the service include Landstar, Prime, Inc., KLLM, and National Freight, Incorporated. The service improves cash flow for trucking companies and complements the express document processing and imaging solutions offered by ACS.
Adding these highly complementary locations to the TripPak SCANNING network, including 28 WILCOHESS facilities in seven Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern states, together with 23 Road Ranger sites covering five states in the Mid-West, will dramatically strengthen the network. Both fleet clients and drivers benefit from the added convenience and 24-hour services.
"TripPak SCANNING offers the only fully integrated image capture service in the marketplace, enabling our transportation partners to scan documents at terminals, distribution centers, truck stops, and our centralized, production scanning facilities," said Lynn Blodgett, group president of ACS Commercial Solutions. "ACS has established the fastest, most flexible imaging network in transportation, providing options to carriers that includes data integration, high availability systems, sophisticated indexing and auditing services that leverage modern technologies. ACS is proud to extend these services through quality partners like WILCOHESS and Road Ranger."
Within the transportation and travel industry, ACS serves package delivery companies, airlines, railroads, freight haulers, trans-oceanic shipping concerns, logistics companies, consumer goods distributors, passenger bus lines, and online travel services. ACS provides business process outsourcing and information technology services including computer processing, network management, systems engineering, information analysis, help desk support, document digitization, and supply chain management.
For example, ACS handles more than 90 percent of the nation's electronic pre-clearance of commercial vehicles through its PrePass program, which now includes more than 281,000 truck and trucking company subscribers. PrePass is an automatic vehicle identification system that allows participating transponder-equipped commercial vehicles to bypass designated weigh stations, port-of-entry facilities, and agricultural inspection stations. Cleared vehicles proceed at highway speed, eliminating the need to stop. That means greater efficiency for shippers, increased fuel savings, and improved safety for all highway users.
Also through its transportation and travel line of business, ACS processes more than 50 million transactions annually for 12 major passenger airlines, including the 6 largest carriers in the US and 4 major international carriers. The company also operates the E-ZPass electronic toll-collection systems for the States of New Jersey, New York, Maryland, and the Delaware Crossings, as well as Palmetto Pass in South Carolina and FasTrak in the San Francisco Bay area.
