TROY, Mich., Dec. 28 -- Delphi Corp. plans to extend its track record of announcing game-changing entertainment technologies at the 2005 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Jan. 6-9, 2005.
At the show, Delphi will showcase its market-leading original equipment entertainment offerings for new vehicles, as well as retail plug-and-play products. Product highlights include 802.11 (Wi-Fi) capable audio and video, satellite radio, streaming video, and premium audio systems.
"In two years, Delphi has become the premier provider of satellite radio products for the car and in the home," said Dave Wohleen, president, Delphi Electrical, Electronics & Safety sector. "During this time, we've sold more than 3 million satellite digital audio receivers to OEMs, retailers and consumers -- more than any other company worldwide. Now, we're building on that success by expanding our portfolio and working quickly to deliver new products that consumers want."
Delphi is currently scheduled to announce new entertainment-related products at CES, Wohleen said.
Beyond entertainment, Delphi will highlight its product portfolio in the areas of information, connectivity and safety. "Many companies specialize in one area, but very few have the capabilities to provide more," Wohleen said. "The great thing about Delphi is that we can deliver great electronics to OEMs and consumers alike for the vehicle, the home, and for on-the-go. We're helping create a 'cocoon of safety' for the vehicle. We've introduced easy- to-use touch-screen navigation systems. We're advancing the use of Wi-Fi to allow consumers to access 'hot spots.' When it comes to innovative electronics technologies in a variety of product areas, Delphi is bringing it all together."
