Beijing court rules for Honda in trademark lawsuit

BEIJING December 24, 2004; Japan Today reported that a Beijing court has ruled for Honda Motor Co in a trademark lawsuit against a Chinese company making products under the name "Hongda," ordering the Chinese firm to stop using the name and to pay damages, Honda officials said Thursday.

The Beijing No. 2 Intermediate People's Court ordered Chongqing Lifan Industry Group Co, a major private motorcycle maker, to pay 1.47 million yuan (about 18.5 million yen) in damages to Japan's largest motorcycle manufacturer, the officials said. (Kyodo News)
