Mazda's fire-damaged RX8 plant to resume operations Jan 6
HIROSHIMA December 23, 2004; Japan Today reported that Mazda Motor Corp said Wednesday it will restart operations on Jan 6 at its Hiroshima factory, where a fire broke out last week, crippling a paint-coating facility.
The automaker said it will have the Ujina No. 1 factory start making the Demio compact car. The factory had assembled RX-8 sports cars and Verisa passenger cars, in addition to the Demio, until the Dec. 15 fire forced its suspension. (Kyodo News)
