Johnson Controls Honors Its Best Suppliers With Performance and Leadership Awards
Company Recognizes 44 Suppliers During Annual Awards Ceremony
PLYMOUTH, Mich., Dec. 21 -- Johnson Controls honored its 44 top-performing suppliers at a celebration event held this month at the Westin Detroit - Metropolitan Airport Hotel in Romulus, Michigan. A total of 45 awards were presented to supply companies that have shown exceptional performance and leadership in their work during the past year with the Automotive Group of Johnson Controls.
"These awards exemplify the commitment of our supply base," said Carolyn Woznicki, vice president of purchasing - North America for Johnson Controls. "We feel it's important for us to recognize our suppliers who help Johnson Controls exceed our customers' expectations."
Johnson Controls' Supplier Performance Awards are presented annually for performance encompassing four key business areas: quality; commercial; material and logistics; and service and engineering support. Exemplary performance by the firm's supply base is recognized on three levels -- gold, silver and bronze.

During this event, Johnson Controls officials also presented five value- based leadership awards -- including the Community Partnership Award, the Innovation Leadership Award, Minority Business Development Leadership Award, the Safety and Environmental Leadership Award and the Strategic Collaboration Award.
Fisher Dynamic of St. Clair Shores, Michigan was honored with the Community Partnership Award. This award recognizes the company that has worked in partnership most often with Johnson Controls to serve and support the local community.
The Innovation Leadership Award was presented to Hallmark of Windsor, Ontario Canada. It is given annually to the supplier that displayed exemplary leadership in working with Johnson Controls to bring product innovation to the market.
L&W Engineering of Belleville, Michigan was recognized with the Minority Business Development Leadership Award, for its level of minority purchases and process of working with minority suppliers.
Milliken & Company of Spartanburg, South Carolina was presented the Safety and Environmental Leadership Award for displaying exemplary leadership in establishing a safe work environment and an effective environmental management system.
Irvin Automotive of Pontiac, Michigan was given the Strategic Collaboration Award, which is granted to the company that takes a leadership role and works closely with Johnson Controls to support the company's supplier enterprise strategy.
