Johnson Controls Appoints Michael Bartschat to Leadership Role in its Automotive Business
PLYMOUTH, Mich., Dec. 17, 2004 -- Officials at Johnson Controls , the world's largest supplier of vehicle interiors and batteries, recently announced the appointment of Michael Bartschat as group vice president of purchasing and supply chain logistics - Automotive Group.
In this position, he will lead the company's purchasing activities in the Automotive Group on a global basis.
Most recently, Bartschat served as vice president, business transformation at Honeywell Inc. Automation and Control Solutions (ACS). Prior to that, he was the vice president of global sourcing for Honeywell ACS, director of supply chain management, and plant manager.
In 1996, Bartschat joined Honeywell after various assignments in operations, business development and research and development at ABB and Lucent's Bell Laboratories.
Bartschat earned a master's degree in business administration from Harvard University, a master's degree in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University.
Bartschat reports to Keith Wandell, president of the Automotive Group of Johnson Controls.
