Senior Automotive Professionals to Discuss New Logistics Challenges
LONDON, December 17 -- Location, globalisation, consolidation...The impact of these three words alone is something automotive logistics professionals have to deal with on a daily basis. It is part of the extreme pressure in the industry to drive cost out of supply chain networks.
Autologistics Europe 2005 conference will aim to help the industry professional to make the link between strategic imperatives and operational actions to create new efficiencies and savings. This third annual event will be held immediately prior to the Geneva Motor Show on 2 and 3 March in the luxurious Le Montreux Palace, Montreux, Switzerland.
Organisers Automotive Logistics magazine are putting together an exciting and informative programme presenting sessions on all areas of the automotive supply chain, from inbound logistics, finished vehicle distribution and service parts operations to suppliers' supply chains, packaging and the technology that supports them all. Once again, it will bring together top speakers from carmakers, suppliers and logistics service providers to share their knowledge of best practice and debate with panel members and delegates to identify new ideas to make the most of the latest challenges and opportunities.
Some of the confirmed speakers and panellists include: Michael Bomann; General Manager, Vehicle Distribution; BMW; Bert Bong; Manager, Vehicle Logistics Europe; Ford; Michael Druml, Head of Logistics; Magna Steyr; Peter Buckermann, VP Global Purchasing, ZF Lemforder; Johannes Fritzen, President, Volkswagen Transport; David Henderson; Director, Logistics; Cooper-Standard; Bruno Lesage, Supply Chain Director, Faurecia; Karl May; VP, Transport Logistics; BMW; Kazumi Nakada; Executive Director, Lean Enterprise Strategy; Delphi; Hartmut Rath, General Manager, Corporate Transportation Logistics, Porsche; Ray Runza; General Manager, Logistics; Honda; Mike Sturgeon; Manager, Vehicle Logistics Europe; Toyota; Jurgen Wels, Head of Logistics, Porsche; and many more...
New this year is a special Finished Vehicle Logistics Forum that will run parallel to the main conference. A major carmaker said: "If you just think about it, in our company we spend basically as much on outbound delivery of the vehicles to the dealer as we do on inbound material logistics, so this is an important subject."
Other programme highlights include a pre-conference cocktail reception on the 1 March at Le Montreux Palace and an exquisite gala dinner at the fantastic Alcazar Theatre on the 2 March. Perfect examples of the networking opportunities during Autologistics Europe, where attendees have the chance to meet up with their peers and discuss the latest industry gossip in a more relax atmosphere.
Autologistics Europe 2005 is sponsored by G-Log, DFDS Tor Line, Flanders Foreign Investment Office, Panalpina, ESC, Mosolf, NYK Logistics & Megacarrier, ProLogis, VehNet and Viewlocity.
