Isuzu asks GM for additional investment

TOKYO December 16, 2004; Japan Today reported that Isuzu Motors Ltd President Yoshinori Ida said Wednesday his company called on its top stakeholder General Motors Corp of the United States in October to increase its stake in the Japanese truck maker.

Ida said he wants GM to remain his company's biggest stakeholder in the future. Although he made no mention of how big a stake GM should take, he apparently wants GM's ownership to exceed 20%. (Kyodo News)
