Nissan developing global strategic vehicle

TOKYO December 12, 2004; Japan Today reported that Nissan Motor Co is developing a global strategic vehicle that will be built at nine plants around the world and sold in 27 countries and regions, the Nihon Keizai Shimbun reported Saturday.
The economic daily said Nissan will keep production costs for the 1.5-liter-class subcompacts low by using the same chassis as the March, Cube and Tiida subcompacts now available in the Japanese market.
