Remy's VP of Asia Pacific Operations Based in Hong Kong

ANDERSON, Ind., Dec. 9, 2004 -- Remy Inc., announces the relocation of Michael Alma, Vice President of Asia Pacific Operations. Alma, who has been traveling extensively to Asia since 1997, is based full time in Hong Kong. He will lead the strategic emphasis on new business and operational expansion. The move supports Remy's global growth plans and reflects Remy's increased presence and focus on China and areas throughout the Asian region.

Alma is responsible for operations in China (Hubei, Shanghai), Korea and India. Additionally, he is responsible for the overall management, business development, and financial performance of each business. He is uniquely qualified for this position based on his international automotive manufacturing experiences.

Prior to Alma's assignment as Vice President, for Remy, he served as the Corporate Director of Asia Pacific. In this role he was charged with the development of a new company, Delco Remy Korea. This company was successfully launched in December 1997 and continues to be a premier contributing location.

Alma also served as the Executive Managing Director of Daewoo Automotive Components (DAC), in Daegu, Korea. DAC was a joint venture between Daewoo and General Motors, which manufactured and sold a wide variety of automotive components to customers in Korea and beyond. In this role he served as GM's operations, engineering, and business development representative for the joint venture. Prior to the joint venture Alma held other leadership roles within the General Motors, Delco Remy Division.

Alma holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management from Purdue University and served as a Captain in the United States Army.
