STATEMENT: ALLIANCE OF AUTOMOBILE MANUFACTURERS LAWSUIT ON CALIFORNIA FUEL ECONOMY REGULATIONS

Today Ford joined with eight other members of the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers in filing a federal lawsuit to challenge California’s (AB 1493) regulation of motor vehicle fuel economy under California’s greenhouse gas law. The following is a statement from Ford Motor Company:]

"The regulation of fuel economy in one state is unacceptable because it raises the prospect of 50 different requirements in 50 different states. As we have stated previously, we take the issue of climate change very seriously. We will continue to focus our discussions at the national and international level where the greatest progress can be made."
