Motley Rice Attorney to Speak at Auto Conference

Marlon Kimpson Will Address Leading South Carolina Trial Lawyers on Vehicle Injury

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C., Dec. 3 -- Motley Rice LLC, one of the nation's leading plaintiffs' law firms, today announced that Marlon P. Kimpson will present "Shake Rattle & Roll-Vehicle Injury and Death Cases" at the South Carolina Trial Lawyers Association's (SCTLA) Automobile Torts XXVII Conference held December 3-4, 2004. The conference will include presentations on subjects ranging from the basic organization and presentation of an automobile tort case to new theories of liability.

During his presentation, Kimpson will discuss the intricacies of vehicle injury and death cases. He will share his insight on analytical process, experts, industry current events and specifically address the Ford door latch individual and class action cases. Other speakers included Lieutenant Governor of South Carolina, Andre Bauer and Alexander M. Sanders, Jr., Former Chief Judge of the South Carolina Court of Appeals and past president of the College of Charleston.

Prior to joining Motley Rice, Kimpson served as law clerk to Judge Matthew J. Perry, U.S. District Court. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the National Bar Association and President of the Charleston Black Lawyers Association. He served as a Chairman of the South Carolina Election Commission from 2002-2003 and Vice-Chair of the South Carolina Democratic Party from 1996 to 1999. Kimpson received a BA degree from Morehouse College and a J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law.
