ARCA, Ken Schrader release
ARCA RE/MAX Series Veteran Ken Schrader Announces 5 in '05
TOLEDO, OHIO (12-1-04) In addition to yet another full NASCAR Nextel Cup Series season next year driving for BAM Racing, Ken Schrader's extra curricular activities will also include five ARCA RE/MAX Series events in 2005.
If Schrader is able to make all five events, the season will mark his most RE/MAX Series starts in any given year since the Fenton, Missouri native first raced with the series at Daytona in 1981.
Schrader, with sponsorship from Federated Auto Parts, has plans to enter RE/MAX Series events at Salem Speedway on April 24, Toledo Speedway on May 22, Gateway Int'l Raceway on July 29, Michigan Int'l Speedway on August 19 and the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds mile-dirt on September 5.
Schrader, in 34 career ARCA RE/MAX Series starts, has 11 wins, 11 Pork pole awards, 22 top-5 finishes and 25 top-10s. In addition, Schrader has led 1,417 laps in 20 races.
Renowned for his versatility in a wide variety of race machines over the years, Schrader's RE/MAX Series record is certainly representative of his skill. With victories at a wide range of venues, the former USAC Sprint and Silver Crown champion has ARCA wins on the Hagerstown (MD) half-mile dirt in 1990, the Topeka (KS) roadcourse in '91, the Indianapolis mile-dirt in '94, Toledo in '97 & '04, the Springfield mile-dirt in '98, Anderson & Salem Speedways in '99, Nashville Superspeedway in '01 and South Boston Speedway in '02 & '03.
Other events on Schrader's '05 calendar under the Federated Auto Parts banner include at least nine NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series races and at least 20 dirt late model events spread out across the country. None the less, Schrader is currently negotiating to add events in both categories. In 2004, Schrader raced in over 40 short-track races on dirt in a combination of late models and UMP modifieds.
Veteran crew chief Donnie Richeson is slated to crew chief Schrader's RE/MAX Series cars as well as his Craftsman Truck Series machines.
