Japan's October Vehicle Output Drops

TOKYO November 27, 2004; Japan Today reported that production of cars, trucks and buses for October in Japan fell 3.7% from a year earlier to 897,425 units for the first decline in five months, due to slumping domestic sales, the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association said Friday.

Output of passenger cars slipped 3% to 742,912 units, while that of trucks and buses dropped 6.7% and 12.1% respectively to 149,460 vehicles and 5,053 units. (Kyodo News)
