Ohana Road Receives National Automotive Media Award
Hawaii automotive TV show takes top spot in entertainment category –
HONOLULU (Nov. 21, 2004)–Ohana Road, Hawaii’s premier automotive TV magazine, received the Gold Medallion award for Best Automotive Entertainment TV Show at the International Automotive Media Awards Ceremony held Nov. 16 at Sardi’s in New York City. I.A.M.A. Executive Director Walt Haessner presented the gold medallion to executive producer Bill Maloney (Motorsports TV Productions/Cutter Family Motors). “We’re pleased that our peers across the country have recognized our Hawaii-based production in this prestigious awards program,” said Maloney. “And, we look forward to highlighting more of Hawaii’s car community in the coming months.” The International Automotive Media Awards with over 200 entries annually recognizes the best automotive newspapers, magazines, radio and TV programs and various other categories. The Gold Medallion is the top award for each category. In June of this year Ohana Road was nominated for a national Telly award Ohana Road hosted by local talent Dale Payson with Anita Hall features five segments including “ride N drive” profiles of current popular model production vehicles, celebrity interviews hosted by Barry Meguiar (including such celebrities as Jay Leno, Billy Gibbons, Dan Gurney, Don Garlits, Carroll Shelby, Mario Andretti, Ted Nugent auto company presidents, engineers and others), futuristic concept cars, plus Hawaii car enthusiasts and their vehicles hosted by local comedian Andy Bumatai. The program ends with Maloney’s humorous look at automotives via “A Bunch of Maloney.” Magic Island, with Diamond Head as a backdrop, serves as the program’s video stage ... Ohana Road is produced in Hawaii by Motorsports TV Productions and airs Saturday evenings at 6 p.m. and Sunday 11 pm on KITV (ABC). Cutter Family Motors is the title sponsor.
