7-Eleven Appoints Paul G. Rostron as Senior Vice President

DALLAS, Nov. 17, 2004 -- 7-Eleven, Inc. , the world's largest convenience retailer, announced today that Paul G. Rostron has joined the company as senior vice president in its Human Resources area, effective November 15. Rostron reports to 7-Eleven's president and chief executive officer, Jim Keyes, and will oversee all aspects of the company's human resource function, including staffing, compensation and benefits, training and organizational development.

Rostron, 42, joins 7-Eleven from FedEx Kinko's, where he has served as executive vice president and chief people officer. In that capacity, he was responsible for leading the company's human resources, corporate communications and other administrative functions. Rostron was instrumental in Kinko's being named to Fortune magazine's "100 Best Places to Work" for two consecutive years.

"Paul's expertise and experience in building and leading world-class human resource organizations will be a significant benefit to our company," said Jim Keyes, 7-Eleven's president and CEO. "Paul's understanding of large, multi- unit retail organizations like 7-Eleven will aid in advancing the development of our 30,000+ employees and allow us to continue to strengthen the 7-Eleven brand."
