SCORE Motorsports to Honor Drive for Diversity With Paint Scheme at Homestead Race

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Nov. 17, 2004 -- The Drive for Diversity program will celebrate the successful completion of its first season this weekend in Miami, as NASCAR veteran Hermie Sadler will drive the SCORE Motorsports No. 02 Chevrolet Monte Carlo with a distinctive Drive for Diversity paint scheme in Sunday's NASCAR Nextel Cup Series Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Sadler, with SCORE Motorsports co-owner Bryant Stith, was one of Drive for Diversity's inaugural team owners in both the driver and crew member programs. "It has been an incredible year for Drive for Diversity, and I'm glad we were able to be a part of it," said Sadler. "Our car is to celebrate our first year of the program, and to thank all the drivers, crew members and sponsors. Without their involvement and support, the program would not be possible."

"As Hermie turns laps at Homestead, he will be raising awareness of the Drive for Diversity program so that all will know NASCAR is open to everyone, everywhere," said Greg Calhoun, president and CEO of Access Marketing & Communications, which executes the program, endorsed by NASCAR.

The paint scheme for the No. 02 SCORE Motorsports entry was designed by renowned NASCAR artist Sam Bass, who is represented on the car's deck lid. The uniform which Sadler will be wearing during Sunday's race is provided by Simpson Racing Products, and will later be auctioned off on NASCAR.com to benefit the Urban Youth Racing School in Philadelphia.

Morty Buckles (Belnavis Racing), Bruce Driver (SCORE Motorsports), Allison Duncan (BH Motorsports), Joe Henderson (Bobby Hamilton Racing) and Reggie Primus (Innovative Motorsports) represented Drive for Diversity as drivers in the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series. David Cropps (Innovative Motorsports), Calvin Gravely (HT Motorsports), Amar Johnson (BHR 2), Robert Johnson (Roush Racing), Tommy Lane (SCORE Motorsports) and Cesar Villanueva (Morgan-Dollar Motorsports) are crew members in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and NASCAR Busch Series.

Program partners for the 2004 season of Drive for Diversity are Centrix Financial, Domino's Pizza, Husqvarna, Kodak Perfect Touch, Lowe's Home Improvement, MBNA, Miller Lite, the National Guard, Nextel and Sunoco. Participants, teams and sponsors for the 2005 program will be announced in the coming weeks.

Drive for Diversity is committed to creating a pipeline of talented diverse and female drivers and pit crew members. The program is looking to build upon its inaugural year by providing more opportunities to deserving participants in 2005. Next season, the program will provide as many as eight NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series teams, while also doubling its NASCAR Busch Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series crew member total from six to 12.
