Amicus on MG Rover Ruling
LONDON, November 17 -- Today Amicus learnt of the Court of Appeal's decision to overturn a High Court judgment giving MG Rover workers at Longbridge the right not to be dismissed for redundancy, in return for the workforce's agreement since 1997 to flexible working.
Terry Pye, Amicus' Regional Secretary, said:
"We are obviously extremely disappointed with the decision which could mean the company pressing ahead with planned redundancies at Longbridge. We are seeking urgent advice from our lawyers on whether we can launch an appeal in the House of Lords."
