Amicus issued the following reaction to Ford evidence given to the DTI Select Committee hearing.

Derek Simpson, General Secretary of Amicus, said:

"It's clear that Ford have made some serious strategic errors. They have set some unreachable targets and it is the workers who are paying the price. Ford executives painted a very bleak future here today. They kept repeating that they can give no assurances or unqualified guarantees for what is left of Browns Lane or for the remaining Jaguar plants."
