2004 CHEVROLET WINNING HIGHLIGHTS:

 

 

  a.. To date, Chevrolet has collected 31 victories at Darlington Raceway - more than any other manufacturer in the Modern Era (1972 - present).  
 

  a.. At Sunday's Mountain Dew Southern 500, Chevrolet will be going for its seventh straight win in as many races. Chevy drivers have won the past six races (since Talladega, Oct. 3).
 

  a.. At Darlington, Chevrolet will also be going for it's 22nd victory of the season, which would match its best Modern Era record of 22 wins set in 1980. 
 

  a.. Chevrolet has led more laps than any other manufacturer this season with 5037 of 10,117 possible.
 

  a.. Chevrolet is the most successful manufacturer of all time in NASCAR Cup racing with a total of 555 victories since 1949 (Ford currently has 553).
 

  a.. Jimmie Johnson's victory in the UAW-GM Quality 500 at Lowe's Motor Speedway Oct. 16 clinched the 2004 Manufacturers' Championship for Chevrolet in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series.  The title is the 28th for Chevrolet since 1952 and the 24th in the Modern Era (since 1972).  Ford ranks second with 15 titles.
