Kurt Johnson Opens Pomona Qualifying in 11th

Kurt Johnson opened his final qualifying effort of the 2004 POWERAde season in fine fashion, posting a solid 6.766-second, 204.08 mph run during the single qualifying session on Thursday.  This placed the ACDelco Cavalier in the eleventh position with three attempts remaining.  

"We had never run this particular set-up on this race track before, and it was completely different from what we ran here back in February.  It could have been faster, but we were still pretty pleased that it went from A to B.  If we keep picking at it, I'm sure we could find at least a couple hundredths that we could pick up, and that's what the ACDelco Racing team will be working to do, starting tomorrow."
