Darlington a Favorite for Hmiel and Team TRIMSPA

Darlington, SC (November 9, 2004) – This weekend at Darlington Raceway, Shane
Hmiel will pull his second straight double duty weekend for Team TRIMSPA.
Hmiel will drive the No. 15 TRIMSPA Silverado in Friday’s Craftsman truck series
race, and the TRIMSPA X32 Dodge in Saturday’s BI-LO 200 Busch Series race.

“It will be an advantage for the Busch car that I’ll be racing in Friday’s
truck race as well,” said Hmiel, who will be making his third start in the
TRIMSPA X32 Dodge this weekend. “Darlington is one of my absolute favorite tracks,
the surface and the multiple racing grooves make it a real driver’s
racetrack. I cannot wait to race in the first night race at Darlington on Friday. I won
a NASCAR Goody’s Dash Series race there and should have won last fall in the
Busch Series but my engine blew up. I believe that both the TRIMSPA Craftsman
truck and the Busch car have a shot at winning races this weekend.”

Not only is Darlington Raceway a favorite track of driver Shane Hmiel, but it
is also one of crew chief Todd Lohse’s favorites. Lohse led Braun Racing to a
top-five finish there earlier this year, and has elected to bring the same
chassis back for this weekend’s race. Chassis BR10 will be the final Dodge Team
TRIMSPA will bring to racetrack, as a manufacturer’s switch to Chevrolet will
occur for the race in Homestead. No matter which make he drives, Hmiel is
ready to top his career best Darlington finish of 13th set in March of ’03.

“Darlington is a demanding track and you really have to have your car under
control,” said Hmiel. “This track shows what a driver is made of. It is really
tough to pass because it is so narrow, especially since they added the new
safer barrier. At Darlington you have to know how to save your tires for the
later runs. It’s overall a fast track for being just over a mile. You just have
to find the line that works best for you, stay up on the wheel and save your
tires. “

Team TRIMSPA has two more races left in the 2004 NASCAR Busch Series season.
This weekend’s race is the BI-LO 200 at Darlington Raceway on Saturday,
November 13th. The event will be televised live at 1 p.m. eastern time on TNT and
broadcast nationally at that same time on radio stations affiliated with MRN and
XM Satellite Radio Channel 144.
