Bonita Stewart, Director - Interactive Communications for DaimlerChrysler, accepted the award on behalf of the company.

"DaimlerChrysler is pleased to accept this award from SHiNE," said Stewart. "Our company takes great pride in fostering an environment of inclusion that creates opportunities for all employees, suppliers, customers and the community. We also know that in an increasingly challenging and competitive industry, creating windows of growth and opportunity for future generations is critical to DaimlerChrysler and our nation."

SHiNE also honored record producer Damon Dash, CEO of Roc-A-Fella Enterprises and Founder of Team Roc, with the SHiNE Visionary of the Year award. The third annual benefit was held to raise funds for the expansion and opening of its first walk-in facility in the Lower East Side focused on providing arts and civic engagement after-school programs for New York City teens. The event included appearances by Nelly and Alicia Keys.

"That's why we're pleased to honor DaimlerChrysler as our Corporate Supporter of the Year for its unwavering dedication to developing minority suppliers, dealers and employees and investing in urban communities."
