U-Haul(R) International and The History Channel(R) Team Up to Preserve History

PHOENIX, Nov. 10, 2004 -- U-Haul International Inc., the undisputed leader in do-it-yourself moving and storage, has teamed up with "Save Our History," a national and grassroots philanthropic initiative, created by The History Channel to encourage communities across the country to become actively involved in preserving their past through learning and innovative, hands-on projects. U-Haul will support the efforts of "Save Our History" through the company's new "Commemorative" SuperGraphics campaign, its Web site, retail merchandise and company mail-outs.

U-Haul will unveil its first four spectacular new "Commemorative" SuperGraphics featuring the "Save Our History" logo during the Veteran's Day parades in New York City and Phoenix, on Nov. 11, 2004. The four graphics will pay tribute to the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines.

"U-Haul has been imaging its moving trucks and trailers with vibrant graphics featuring distinctive icons of every U.S. state and Canadian province since 1988," explained John "J.T." Taylor, U-Haul executive vice president. "Many of our SuperGraphics give tribute to significant events, anniversaries and preserved historical sites. With the launch of our new 'Commemorative' series, the partnership with 'Save Our History' was a natural fit to support history preservation."

"The History Channel is proud to join with U-Haul to raise awareness of the richness of our nation's history by honoring our men and women in the armed services who have given so selflessly to protect our great country. The 'Save Our History' initiative demonstrates how critically important it is to document and preserve our history for future generations," stated Michael Mohamad, senior vice president of Marketing at The History Channel. "Together with U-Haul and their extraordinary 'Commemorative' series, we will continue to spread the word that unless history lives in the present it has no future."

By the end of December, 1,000 new-production, 10-foot moving vans will be imaged with the four new military SuperGraphics and integrated into the U-Haul fleet for families moving one-way or In-Town(R) across North America.
