FLYIN’ RYAN GRABS  FOURTH POLE IN A ROW 

Indianapolis – (November 5, 2004) Ryan Newman, protected with UnderX by 
Ringers,  grabbed his fourth pole in four consecutive races on Friday for Sunday’s 
NASCAR  Nextel Cup Series event at Phoenix International  Raceway. 
Newman will start on the pole for  the Checker Auto Parts 500, with rookie 
Brian Vickers to his  outside. 
Newman set a lap of 26.499 seconds  at a speed of 135.854 mph. 
His Penske Racing South teammate  Rusty Wallace will start 15th, while his 
other teammate Brendan  Gaughan will use a provisional and start  40th. 
The Checker Auto Parts 500 goes  green at 3 p.m. (EST) on NBC.
