Subaru Reports October Sales; Total Sales Up 12 Percent From Last Year

CHERRY HILL, N.J., Nov. 3, 2004 -- Subaru of America, Inc. reported on Tuesday total sales for October of 16,531 units. This total represents a year-over-year increase of 12 percent.

"Our sales momentum continued this month," said Fred Adcock, executive vice president, Subaru of America, Inc. "We are pleased with the increased sales of both newly redesigned Legacy and Outback models, and with the recently announced NHTSA five-star crash ratings for the Outback, we anticipate the continued growth of that model."

The Legacy model line recorded 8,369 units, of which the Legacy sedan represents an increase of 57% over last year. The Subaru Outback recorded sales of 5,684 units for the month, which is an increase of 39%. Subaru Forester posted 4,520 units in October. The Impreza line recorded 3,034 unit sales, a 3% increase from last year, while Subaru Baja recorded sales of 608 units for the month.
