The Progressive Corporation Announces Investor Relations Conference Call

MAYFIELD VILLAGE, Ohio--Nov. 3, 2004--The Progressive Corporation will host a one-hour conference call on Thursday, November 11, 2004, beginning at 2:00 p.m. eastern time. The Company's Quarterly Report on Form 10-Q and its Quarterly Shareholders Report for the third quarter 2004 will be available on Tuesday, November 9. Under the Company's conference call format, the Company will not make detailed comments on the quarter in addition to these published reports, but management will respond to questions at that time.
