Ringers Gloves Weekend Wrap-Up

RINGERS GLOVES  WEEKEND WRAP-UP 
Anderson Records 14th  Win of 2004 

Indianapolis – (October 31, 2004) The American Speed Association National 
Tour wrapped  up their season on Friday with the World Financial Group 150 at 
Atlanta Motor  Speedway. 
Ringers driver Mike Garvey picked  up his fifth win of 2004, while Ringers 
racer Kevin Cywinski took home the  championship (his second consecutive) by 10 
points over second place Bryan  Reffner. 
Other Ringers notables in the  field included Butch Miller, third; Peter 
Cozzolino, sixth; Brett Sontag,  seventh and 2004 Pat Schauer Rookie of the Year 
recipient; Cywinski, ninth; Rich  Loch, 14th; Reed Sorenson, 21st; Toby Porter, 
 25th and Robbie Pyle, 29th. 
Greg Anderson gambled and won  during the Fourth annual ACDelco Las Vegas 
NHRA Nationals in Pro Stock  finals. 
Anderson finally broke the all-time wins  (previously tied with John Force at 
13) in a single season on Sunday at The  Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in 
defeating KB Racing teammate, Jason  Line. 
Anderson outdrove Line with a 6.796/202.52 mph  run. 
In only his third professional Pro  Stock Bike start, Chip Ellis took his 
George Bryce-owned S&S Buell V-Twin to  the Winner’s Circle for the first time. 
Ellis defeated Angelle Savoie, 7.191/179.92 mph to 7.255/177.49 mph  run. 
The win also moved Ellis up to  second place, tied with Savoie, in the 
Ringers Gloves Pro Stock Bike Battle  points. 
Although a Ringers racer didn’t  capture a Wally in Top Fuel, Ringers 
supporter Morgan Lucas made his first final  round appearance against Doug Kalitta. 
Sunday was only Lucas’s seventh  start in his professional Top Fuel career. 
In NASCAR Nextel Cup Series  action, polesitter Ryan Newman experienced tire 
vibration problems early on in  the Bass Pro Shops MBNA 500 at Atlanta Motor  
Speedway. 
Newman’s No. 12 ALLTEL/Mobil 1  Dodge crew managed to get the problems under 
control for a 17th place  finish. 
Although the finish wasn’t what  they hoped for, Newman gained two positions 
in the Chase for the Nextel Cup,  moving up to seventh. 
Newman’s Penske Racing South  teammate Rusty Wallace came home 11th in the 
Bass Pro Shops MBNA 500,  followed by fellow teammates Brendan Gaughan, 18th and 
Travis Kvapil  in 32nd. 
Nextel Cup heads to Phoenix  International Raceway next weekend for the 
Checker Auto Parts  500.
