Bosch Selected as Finalist for PACE Awards

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., Oct. 29, 2004 -- Robert Bosch Corporation has been selected as a finalist for the 2005 Automotive News PACE Awards in the Product - Europe category for its Trailer Sway Mitigation (TSM) technology.

Developed by Bosch in Europe, TSM helps provides stability while a vehicle is towing a trailer. If a trailer enters into a dangerous sway situation while traveling, TSM can automatically brake specific and individual wheels on the vehicle to bring both the vehicle and trailer under control without driver intervention. The technology can also reduce engine power to provide stability to the vehicle and trailer during these situations if required.

"Bosch Trailer Sway Mitigation can dramatically reduce the likelihood of such accidents by automatically controlling dangerous trailer sway, allowing the driver to focus on driving the vehicle," said Scott Dahl, director, CSM marketing (AC-SM/MKT). "We think that anyone who pulls a trailer will be very excited to have this technology on their vehicle."
