Universal Technical Institute Expands Ford Training Program to Additional Campuses

Ford FACT Elective to be Offered to Students in Exton and Norwood

PHOENIX, Oct. 27 -- Universal Technical Institute, Inc. , a provider of technical education training, today announced that it has expanded its OEM relationship with Ford Motor Company to offer the Ford Accelerated Credential Training (FACT) elective to students at new UTI automotive training campuses in Exton, Pennsylvania and Norwood, Massachusetts. The FACT elective is a 15-week, Ford-specific training course that allows students to earn Ford certifications. The FACT program is currently offered at UTI campuses in Arizona, California, Illinois and Texas, and at UTI's NASCAR Technical Institute (NTI) in North Carolina. Ford FACT training is expected to begin at the Exton campus during the fourth quarter of 2005 and at the Norwood campus one year after that campus begins general automotive training. Commencement of FACT training at the Exton and Norwood campuses is subject to obtaining applicable federal, state and accrediting approvals.

"We are expanding our relationship with one of the world's largest and most respected automotive manufacturers," said Kimberly McWaters, president and chief executive officer of Universal Technical Institute. "By offering this OEM-specific program to our students, we're helping drive enrollment, while also providing students with improved post-graduation employment opportunities and increasing the supply of professional and skilled technicians available to Ford's more than 4,600 dealerships across the United States."

The FACT program includes training on current Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles, as well as the latest developments in engine control systems, brakes, steering and suspension systems, automatic and manual transmissions, fuel and emission control systems. The vehicles and specialty equipment used in the elective are supplied directly from Ford Motor Company's exclusive factory authorized training program.

"Our relationship with UTI provides students with an outstanding automotive technical education. Our dealers and customers are the benefactors because dealers receive well trained, high quality automotive technicians. Because of the continued success with the Ford FACT program, we are opening the program at UTI's new campuses. These additional locations will expand our ability to provide our dealers with qualified technicians no matter where they are located," said Dave McClain, Technical Training Operations Manager at Ford Motor Company.
