NAVTEQ and Autodesk Collaborate to Enable Location Solutions for Wireless Industry
CHICAGO, Oct. 26, 2004 -- NAVTEQ , a leading global provider of digital maps for vehicle navigation and location-based solutions, and Autodesk, Inc., the world's leading digital design and content company, have signed a licensing agreement that enables carriers and other wireless service providers in North America to license NAVTEQ(TM) maps directly from Autodesk for integration into Autodesk's location platform and software. This agreement makes it possible for wireless service providers to create scalable, highly accurate and customized location solutions that can be easily integrated into wireless networks.
Autodesk develops and delivers location-based solutions that meet the wide variety of needs and interests of both consumer and business users. NAVTEQ maps offer the quality and flexibility required for integration into different types of location-enabled applications as well as the rich content and accuracy to meet solution providers' varying requirements -- whether it be navigating, entertaining or simply informing users about people and places around them in real time.
